Are Women Allowed to Wear Rudraksha
Women can certainly wear Rudraksha and gain benefit through that.
Undoubtedly, Rudraksha is related to Lord Shiva, but Shiva is also incomplete without Shakti. Moreover, there are some Rudrakshas that hold feminine energies of goddesses like Parvati, Lakshmi & Sarasvati. So, why women cannot wear Rudraksha? There is no harm in women wearing the sacred Rudraksha(s).
Then why some communities prohibit women from wearing Rudraksha?
Well, most of the myths and beliefs hold some scientific reasons behind. Same goes with the women wearing or not wearing Rudraksha.
Why can women wear Rudraksha?
Rudraksha is a sacred bead and a blessing of Lord Shiva. Every human being is the child of Lord Shiva and worthy of his blessings regardless of gender, age, caste, or any such difference. So, women are also rightful to wear Rudraksha.
Why women cannot wear Rudraksha?
Scientifically, the Rudraksha produces bio-chemical energy. When touched by the body, it gives a shoot to the blood and heat; thus, could increase the heart pumping, which could further increase the blood flow. Such body condition could prove dangerous during the menstrual cycle and may cause persistent abdominal cramps with heavy periods. A compound called Quercetin is also found in Rudraksha which could worsen the period cycle and may cause headache, nausea and kidney disorders. That is why women were told not to wear Rudraksha.
What is the solution?
As an oasis, women can wear the Rudraksha on casual days and can remove the Rudraksha during period days. This way, women can receive blessings & benefits from the Rudraksha as well as can prevent any sort of harm.
