Horseshoe
In India, people have traditionally considered the horseshoe as a lucky charm and use it by fixing it above their main door on the outer side for protection and good luck. The shape of the horseshoe describes the ideal land configuration of FengShui. It is said that the real horseshoe which a horse worn and which has been energized by the horse galloping, is very lucky. This should be placed on East and South-East facing doors and is more useful for West, North-West and North facing doors.
The ideal way is to affix the horseshoe with its prongs pointing downwards. Some people fix horseshoe by pointing its prongs upwards which is also not wrong because it is said to bring in good luck but when it is affixed with the prongs pointing downwards, it is said to protect house from evil spirits and negative energies.
