Vastu Remedies
Sort by:
Most Vastu defects can be corrected without breaking a wall. Pandit.com offers the remedies used in that work: metal strips, blockers, boosters and helixes, geopathic stress rods, pyramids, energy plates, Vastu yantras and traditional idols such as Kamdhenu and Nandi. They are the same remedies used in Pt. Rahul Kaushl's Vastu consultations, and this guide explains how they are chosen.
How Vastu correction works
Vastu Shastra reads a building through its directions. Each direction has a presiding deity: Ishana in the north-east, Agni in the south-east, Nirriti in the south-west, Vayu in the north-west, Kubera in the north, Indra in the east, Yama in the south and Varuna in the west, with Brahma at the centre, the Brahmasthan. A defect is a mismatch between a zone and what is built or kept there, such as a kitchen, toilet, staircase or entrance in an unsuitable place. A remedy restores the balance of that zone without changing the structure.
Types of Vastu remedies
| Remedy | How it is used |
|---|---|
| Metal strips and strip rolls | Laid along a floor or wall line to mark or separate a zone. The metal is chosen by the zone. |
| Blockers and boosters | Placed in a zone to hold back an unsuitable activity or to support a weak one. |
| Helixes | Used where a zone needs correction in a small space. |
| Geopathic stress rods | Used where the land itself is a concern, usually after dowsing. |
| Pyramids and energy plates | Placed under or near an affected area, or at a door that faces an unfavourable direction. |
| Vastu yantras | Installed for Vastu Purush and the deities of the zones. |
| Idols and symbols | Kamdhenu, Nandi, Garuda, the Swastik and the Sun face, kept in the zone where they belong. |
Choose the remedy after the diagnosis
The same object can help in one zone and do nothing in another. That is why a Vastu remedy is chosen after the plan is read, not before. A consultant draws the 16 zones on the floor plan, finds the centre, marks the entrance and the use of each zone, and then names the remedy, the metal and the exact place. Tools such as a compass, a laser level and dowsing rods are part of that survey, and they are available here too.
If you have a defect you want to correct, share your floor plan in a Vastu consultation with Pt. Rahul Kaushl before you buy.
Frequently asked questions
Can Vastu defects be corrected without demolition?
In most homes and offices, yes. Strips, blockers, boosters, pyramids and yantras are placed in the affected zone to restore its balance, so walls do not need to be moved.
Which Vastu remedy should I buy first?
Begin with a diagnosis of the floor plan. A remedy is matched to a zone and a defect, so buying before the diagnosis often means the wrong object or the wrong place.
How do I find the directions of my home?
Stand at the centre of the home with a compass, away from metal and electronics, and note north. Mark the eight directions on the floor plan from that centre.
What is geopathic stress?
It is the idea that some ground below a building carries disturbed natural energy. In Vastu practice it is checked by dowsing, and corrected with rods placed in the ground or floor.
Where should a Kamdhenu idol be kept?
A Kamdhenu is usually kept in the north-east or in the puja room, facing into the home. Your consultant may suggest another zone for a specific purpose.
Do Vastu remedies work in a rented home?
Yes. Because they need no construction, strips, pyramids, yantras and idols can be placed and later moved with you.
