Individual yantra or Navgrah yantra?
An individual planet yantra is chosen when one graha needs attention in the birth chart, for example during its dasha or when it is weak or afflicted. The Navgrah yantra is kept for the general balance of all nine planets, and is a common choice for the home temple or for a new home. If you are unsure which planet to address, start with the Navgrah yantra and consult an astrologer for the rest.

How to install a planet yantra
- Choose the day of the planet, in Shukla Paksha, in the morning.
- Clean the yantra with Ganga jal or raw milk, then water, and place it on a clean cloth in the puja room, facing east or north.
- Offer a lamp, incense and flowers, and chant the planet's beej mantra 108 times.
- Repeat the mantra on the planet's day each week, at least for the period you are working on.
