Nevertheless, establishing crystal Shivling at home is not as complicated as “Pran Pratishtha” because the crystal is naturally sanctified. Here are the simple rites to be performed for establishing Shivling at home:

• Establish it on a Monday or Shivratri day.
• First up, pray and invoke the presiding deity Lord Ganesha without whom no Puja or rites can prove successful.
• Perform Rudra Abhisheka with either holy water of Ganga or a mixture of five liquids like cow’s milk, Ganga Jal, Ghee, Curd, and Honey.
• While performing Abhisheka, chant “Om Namah Shivaya” Mantra at least 108 times.
• Make the ling dry with a clean piece of cloth and place it on a clean Asna (seat or cloth).
• Offer articles like Dhup, Deep, flowers, Bilva leaves, rice and sweets, etc. If you cannot manage to have multiple items, then simply offer Bilva Leaves.
• Perform Aarti, and establish the Linga. Daily worship or at least bow before the Linga for good luck and blessings.
