Shani Shanti poojas performed to please the planet Saturn and to bring prosperity in one’s life
The pooja for sahaniswara is performed for mental peace and to get rid of health ailments in the body. According to the Vedic astrology, the planet Saturn is considered as an emaciated God with a huge physique taw eyes and big tooth. He is indolent and airy in temperament. He has the power to convert a beggar to a king or a king to a beggar in seconds, based on their previous karmas and deeds.
Worship of Shani:
It is said that this God would rule every single person on earth at least once in their lifetime. Once the period starts, they would undergo series of hardships in their lives, Shani puja and worship of the God tends to mitigate their sufferings during bad times. People are also advised to recite his mantra facing the west to minimise the evil effects.

The Saturn god is the indicator of sorrow, longevity, old age, death and misery. He is also responsible for restriction, responsibility, leadership, integrity, humility and ambition. Graha shanti pooja: If the planet is not positioned in the correct place in one’s chart, the pooja is performed to alleviate its negative effects. The pooja also removes mangala dosha and sadesati. The pooja is performed with recitals of 1008 namavalis of the planet in the prescribed manner.

Navagraha pooja: The pooja is performed in the prescribed manner for all the nine planets with recitals of the Navagraha Sooktam and 108 namavalis of each of the planet.
