Vaastu Advice for the Kitchen
The origin of the Vaastu Shastra dates back to ancient times when India was ruled by many a kings. Location of the Kitchen
Vaastu Shastra allows the kitchen to take the south eastern side or the North West corner. Under no conditions should the kitchen be constructed in any other direction of the house. This is important because this would not only suppress the disputes and misunderstandings of the family, but also bring prosperity and wealth to the house, if followed properly. Care should be provided to ensure that the kitchen does not occupy an unhealthy position near the bathroom or the toilet. This is unwanted since the kitchen would be prone to dangerous germs. It should not be in the direction of the house entrance and the walls between the kitchen and the toilet should not be common under any circumstances as that would adversely affect the health of the head of the family.
Position of the Common Things in a Kitchen
The kitchen is a host to some the most common things we see in our day to day lives. They should be kept in a proper order and manner. For instance, the stove- it should cover the south east portion and the gas cylinder should be kept behind it in the south eastern corner. The position should be optimized so that one faces the east while working on the stove. The stove should be positioned in such a manner that it is not visible from outside the kitchen.
The regular equipments should never be kept in the north east side of the kitchen. The most suitable direction is the south east or south. The racks for storing the ration and other food commodities should be on a wall occupying the western and southern directions.
The refrigerator should never be placed at the north east corner of a kitchen. Any other direction would suffice. The clocks, if required in a kitchen, should take a place on the south or south eastern positioned wall.
Walls and Windows
The walls should be colored lightly, with cheerful shades of orange, yellow or chocolate brown and the windows should be in the east or south direction, if they are larger and smaller respectively
